May 2016

I hope our newsletter finds you all doing well. I want to share a quick update on how things are going for our church, and what we’re up to.

Today, May 5th, is “Idaho Gives” day (an online giving campaign hosted by the website “razoo”.  Although we were unable to receive “certified charity” status on Razoo for this year, you still have several options to give to our church today if the Lord moves you to do so. Our church is a certified 501(c)3 organization, and all financial contributions are tax deductible (you’ll receive a tax statement from us at the end of the year). First, you may give directly to our church by check to Emmaus Road Church at our address listed below (we receive the entire amount of your gift this way; by giving online, part of the funds go to the hosting organizations). Second, you may give directly from our website by clicking this link: Give Online. Third, we have set up a “gofundme” campaign, and you may give that way by clicking this link: gofundme. Finally, you may also give to NICE (Northwest Independent Church Extension), a church planting organization that we are affiliated with by visiting their “Donate” page and submitting your giving under the “Missionary Support” heading.

The Lord has been particularly gracious to us since beginning Sunday worship services in September of 2015, and we have recently grown to almost 30 people. With several of our church members working or living at the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission (IFRM), we also have a significant presence among the poor and homeless population of Idaho Falls (you may contribute financially to the IFRM on the “Idaho Gives” website, or visit their website here). And, our downtown presence on Sunday Mornings at the pottery shop “Possibly Picasso” also makes us accessible to a plethora of people who live, work, or visit the downtown area of our city.

We have hoped to host a downtown business luncheon for downtown Idaho Falls business owners, and we still plan to do so, but unforeseeable events have caused us to postpone this event to this coming fall. Please continue to pray with us that our church would be effective at ministering to those hurting people who need Jesus in downtown Idaho Falls. Please pray for our planned downtown business luncheon. Please pray for the Lord’s continued blessing of our church, and that we would continue to grow. Thank you all for your continued prayer support, and for those of you who have blessed us financially. The Lord is working in our church and in our community, and your support has been felt and greatly appreciated.

Blessings to you all this week as you worship God with your hearts, your souls, your possessions, and your finances
