What is our style like? Well, first we would tell you about our motivation. We are a relational church. Jesus made disciples in small group relationships. We also believe that our job as a church is to make disciples of Jesus (Matthew 28:19). We are deeply committed to the Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, for the reason that they reveal to us the truth about God, and the truth about ourselves and our need for Him. The Scriptures reveal Jesus to us, and our need for relationship with him. For all these reasons, we make disciples in small groups focused on relationships. Small groups are the main focus at Emmaus.
Small groups are the “front door” of our church. We hope that all of our church members would be involved in small groups, inviting others to small groups, and growing in their faith and discipleship to Jesus in small groups. Contact us to get involved in a small group today!
But, as our church grows, how can we keep people connected and thriving in the small group environment? In order to promote the small group relational environment, we have designed our Sunday morning worship service to be relational as well. We meet and fellowship around tables, with coffee and snacks. In order to foster a relational environment on Sunday mornings, our teaching is relational and dialogical. We incorporate discussion questions, and encourage interaction.
Multi-Generational and Multi Ethnic
We are a multi-generational and multi-ethnic church, as we believe in the value of a diverse fellowship as a microcosm of the global body of Christ.
We promote a blended worship music style, incorporating old and new music representing various ages of Christian tradition.
